Conway Voters to Decide New Franklin County Tech Building Oct. 6

CONWAY — Conway will join the rest of the Franklin County Technical School district at the polls October 6 to decide on a new building for the vocational high school, a question town officials are trying to get in front of residents well ahead of the vote.

TOWN HALL

The town has posted a video briefing on the Franklin County Technical School building proposal ahead of the October 6 district-wide election, urging residents to review the plan before voting. Separately, the town's public hearing on BlueWave's proposed solar project on Roaring Brook Road, twice pushed back, was held September 15 after an earlier postponement from August 31.

Conway also has close to 20 open seats across its boards and committees, including the Board of Assessors, Board of Health, Cultural Council, Cable Advisory Committee, Capital Improvements Planning Committee, Community Preservation Committee, Festival of the Hills, Parks and Recreation Committee and the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Agricultural Commission remains inactive with no members; residents interested in any seat are asked to contact the town administrator.

SCHOOLS

Conway is one of the member towns of the Franklin County Technical School district, which is asking voters districtwide to decide October 6 on funding for a new school building. The Turners Falls vocational high school, marking its 50th year since opening in 1976, has posted information on the proposal alongside its regular admissions window, which the school says runs from March 1 through September 30.
